A near capacity audience of about 1450 is expected Friday at Central State Assembly for Captain Carl von Hoffman’s illustrated lecture From Egypt to the Cape of Good Hope. Additionally a Pittsburgh fire event left Greater Pittsburgh excursion boat ruined and sinking in the Ohio River with over $100,000 damage.

Landmark Dances Banned Prompting Demolition in Chippewa
In Isabella county a 40 year old Chippewa township landmark will be torn down and rebuilt about a mile north after a lease clause barred public dances. The two story frame building once served as a cheese factory on John T Landon homestead later used by the Gleaners as a lodge hall. Dances were held there for years until a lease restriction prompted notice of eviction and the site sale to the Conroys.

Oil worker held in county jail on Ohio theft inquiry
