In Detroit on March 7 United Press staffer Paul Weber reports Angelo Livecchi was identified as a finger man in the Jerry Buckley killing. Elmer Jolly of the LaSalle hotel testified Livecchi walked nervously near the scene and twice left the Adelaide street entrance before the radio announcer was shot. The identification marks a key link for the state's case against Livecchi, Ted Pizzino, and Joe Bommarito.

Veterans in the county may secure loans up to 60 percent on adjusted compensation certificates. Applications are filed at Hunt's Barber Shop or the Mt. Pleasant post office and sent to the Veterans Bureau in Detroit. About 500 eligible veterans. many have filed using an ordinary note. The certificates must accompany the note which the government holds as security. No checks have been received yet by local applicants.

Fire destroys home of Harvey Carr at Weidman
Fire broke out in the residence of Harvey Carr in Weidman shortly after 8:30 this afternoon and caused total loss. Most household goods were saved. The blaze, starting in the kitchen, was fanned by high wind and prompted an emergency call to Mt Pleasant for aid. a city truck responded quickly. Nearby buildings were not on fire at press time.

State officers return Gilmore to Jackson prison
Fred Gilmore a forty year old ex convict known as a desperado was captured after attempting to flee police. He was paroled last fall by former Governor Green and is to serve the remainder of his 15 to 20 year sentence. His wife Lydia Dolly Gilmore was released from county jail. He boasted the local jail wasn t big enough to hold him and a volley of bullets halted his escape.
