Anti Hoover faction battles to derail the Hoover draft at the Republican convention. Farm leaders threaten to storm Convention Hall to demand a rival plank and oppose the equalization fee while trying to lock in their delegates and influence the platform.
A crowd of over five hundred, including many parents, praised the junior high operetta Hansel and Gretel. The fully costumed show featured catchy music and varied dancing with a new color wheel lighting effect. The Cookie Witch and witches drew the warmest votes from the children audience.
At Kansas City convention hall Senator Moses of New Hampshire, permanent chairman, challenged Democrats and Tammany Hall to nominate a strong candidate. Sacred Heart Academy commencement tonight at Sacred Heart church. Thirty five seniors will receive diplomas, the largest class ever at the local institution. Classical course graduates include Joseph Casey and Kenneth Donohue among others. literary course honorees include Ida Balge and John Breidenstein among many names.

A track meet at Island Park in connection with the Methodist Sunday school picnic produced results. In the 100 yard dash Bilcox finished first with VanDyne second and Gover third in 40.6 seconds. The 220 yard dash saw Holes first, Govery second, VanDyne third in 24.5 seconds. The 440 yard dash was won by Bilcox with Ovens second and VanDyne third in 53.9 seconds.
