Congratulatory telegrams pour in for Dale Jackson and Forrest O Brine as they extend the St Louis Robin endurance flight beyond the 247 hours, 48 minutes, 32 seconds record set yesterday. By 3 17 a m today their total reached 260 hours as they continued the effort.
Detroit July 24 Dale Red Jackson a bowl flying pilot known for night records in Michigan air tour draws crowds at ports and fields along the route. He performs stunt flying including upside down rolls and barrel rolls and holds a world record with over 200 consecutive rolls. He won a dead-stick landing from 1500 feet landing 20 inches from a flag. Rod Jackson is a Curtiss test pilot loaned to Michigan for the tour.
Jackson and O Brine continued the longest aviation flight aboard the Challenger six cylinder motor at Lambert Field. The crowd of about 20 000 witnessed fireworks as the green Verey pistols flashed. Rewards poured in with Curtiss Robertson promising 100 dollars per hour beyond the record and stores offering additional donations.
In San Francisco on July 24, George D. Crisley reports Frank Schroeder and Frank Madero, inspired by dugout dwellings in France, built a front line trench inspired dwelling on a vacant lot at Larkin and Market. The site lies near the municipal center with Market Street’s electric car lines nearby.
