Buffalo July 28 AP Glenn Curtiss aviation pioneer died from a blood clot on the lung after an appendicitis operation. Born May 21 1878 in Hammondsport New York he built bicycle shop workshops then founded Curtiss Manufacturing and led early flights including Albany to New York City. He later directed Curtiss Aircraft Company and helped place aviation on the commercial path.
