First Pilot Held for Customs Law Violation
J S Sherren of Three Rivers Michigan became the first airplane pilot detained here for customs violations. Air Mail Pilot Killed In Crash Near Lake Erie
Air mail flyer William F. Martin of Thompson Aeronautical Corporation died when his plane crashed on the Lake Erie shore near Huron Ohio while en route from Cleveland to Detroit and Bay City. The crash occurred shortly after 8 am local time, destroying the aircraft. Martin’s body was found among wreckage, mail spared, and his home listed as Pontiac, Michigan.
