Police Break Up Airplane Rum Ring
New Boston, Mid July 20. State police broke up what they believed to be a Canadian airplane rum running ring. Howard Bolyard, 32, of Detroit, the pilot, was arrested and his plane seized after 14 vases of whiskey were found aboard shortly before dawn. The field Bolyard landed at is thought to be the first stop on a trip to Indiana. Police say the rum running plane had been operating at least a week but had not yet determined prior landings.
