Foster Arrives in Chicago on Murder Charge

Jackson youth earns naval academy dream after lake rescue
Russell "Bud" Mason, 17, a Jackson High senior and Junior Red Cross lifeguard, saved Mrs. Lenoa Graham of Chicago and her six year old son from Brown Lake near Jackson. He swam 40 feet to reach the raft, freed the boy, towed him ashore, rescued the mother, and helped administer first aid with two doctors. The two victims were revived and taken to Foote Hospital. Mason told his parents he would miss dinner, later declining to explain.
