He started from Winnipeg Wednesday morning in a tri motored Fokker plane that battled a storm and was lost for three hours before sighting the local field. The craft touched down at Ishpeming and was to depart for the airport at Hagle Mills to continue.
Customs officials nabbed a 65-foot Sea Hawk at Navy Pier with 300 cases of Canadian beer among an $80,000 cargo. Two men Perry Marshall and William Loepke were arrested. crew and captain fled. Marshall said Sea Hawk sailed from Sheboygan to Chicago. Loepke worked for a Chicago mail order firm. The boat had carried fruit previously.

Washington July 18. Inter state commerce commission asked to approve Grand Trunk Western railroad petition to operate a car ferry service over Lake Michigan between Muskegon Michigan and Milwaukee Wisconsin. Proposed reports to the commission were made today.
Muskegon July 18 The oil tanker Pennoil loaded with 16 000 barrels of crude oil burned at her Muskegon harbor pier. Three crew members were injured and likely fatally burned as a gas explosion occurred in the last tank. Estimated loss about 200 000 dollars. A nearby barge Altamaha carrying 8000 barrels burned nearby days earlier.
The seventeenth Isabella County Agricultural Society fair opens August 20 and runs through August 24 featuring Sam Linfield Boot Villa Gertrude Avery and the Venetian Trio. Governor Fred W Green will speak on Governor's Day Saturday August 24. Horse racing rounds out the three day program on the main track.
