He paid a $25,000 judgment obtained by Miss King three years ago.
Detroit July 11 An association of 1200 alumni of the Boys State Fair school at the Michigan State Fair will be organized during fair week September 1 to 7. The school selects county winners from an annual agricultural contest for eighth grade students aspiring farmers. Alumni include many prosperous farmers.
Lon Zent, 18, listed Alpena address, held as one of two youths linked to a Montcalm county bank hold-up attempt. A warded alarm device by Charles Rud helped sheriff’s deputies capture Zent after a failed robbery at Amble bank. Miss Viola Buckley distracted the gunmen and warned others. The second youth fled.
The British admiralty announced the submarine H-47 lying in St George's Channel will remain a tomb as salvage attempts fail. Rescue efforts were halted by stormy seas and positions located, with officials stating the crew likely perished within hours after the collision with L-12 at eight a.m. Tuesday.

Lansing July 11 Special Notices sent by the public utilities commission announce hearings for about 150 oil producers and handlers in Michigan. Rules cover well pits, casing depths, cementing, gas lighting prohibition, high pressure valves, measuring lines, water protection, waste control, gas venting, and abandonment standards. Joint hearings by the utilities and conservation commissions are planned for late July or early August with field-specific sessions to follow in Mt. Pleasant, Muskegon, Saginaw and other locales.
