Dublin July 2 In an exclusive interview Ernest Blythe Irish Free State minister of finance said American holders of Irish Liberty bonds issued before the 1922 Anglo Irish treaty will be paid in full. He noted New York dispatches on refunds prompted interest and explained many holders in Ireland and abroad have kept the bonds as souvenirs but can convert them to cash.
Detro it receives a force of over 1,000 rookie policemen patrolling the downtown to curb jaywalking by urging pedestrians to wait for the light and use crosswalks as drivers speed through intersections. The new traffic cops stress the rule with warnings, while jaywalkers persist despite the absence of an ordinance targeting the act.
Chicago tests of amphibian planes could cut transcontinental airmail time by more than two hours. Land and water routes meet inbound mail at the city airport near downtown, with mail ferried by land and water to Lake Michigan. If successful, the system would roll out to New York with similar time savings from Hadley Field or Newark to the North River post office.

Two men entered the Florence Alabama office of Solicitor Murphy to swear out a warrant claiming a man came for a bottle of home brew and was to receive five dollars in change. They alleged the change was not returned and the warrant was not issued.
Detroit agents report liquor hijackers using customs border patrol uniforms and badges. James Perna alias Moses Massau, a confessed bootlegger, says three men forced his car containing 30 cases of liquor to the curb, shot him as he fled, while two attackers wore plain clothes and a cap badge.
Emil Croydon a former Grand Rapids hotel auditor sought for embezzling 1882 dollars was traced to Bridgeport Connecticut living as James Parker. He was identified by a former fellow employee and captured there.
Lansing reports a heated dispute between State Treasurer Frank McKay and Archer Chemical’s John F. Widoo over a new paving composition for state roads. The administrative board ordered a test by the highway department while Widoo claimed his mix reduces costs by about 14 000 dollars per mile and outperforms concrete.
Detroit, July 2. After six months of investigation the Wood murder plot and the Haggerty slaying details will be public. Circuit Judge Arthur Webster set September 9 as the trial date for Maron A. Wood Cecil W. Holt and Herbert L Sullivan, charged together. Ambrose L Haggerty was killed in Wood's real estate office last January. Wood and Sullivan are free on bonds of 25 000 each. Judge Harry Dingeman lowered Holt bail from 25 000 to 10 000 yesterday.
