The Rev. Harvey Chaney forty seven of Ney Ohio died instantly when his car was struck by a southbound Ann Arbor freight train at Mellinger's crossing near Ithaca Michigan. His niece Mrs Bessie Miller nineteen and her infant child were traveling with him. the baby was uninjured and Mrs Miller suffered minor injuries. The party, en route from Ney to Coleman to visit the pastor's wife and sons, planned to settle near Coleman. Chaney had just completed a year as Ney pastor and planned retirement. He is survived by his wife two sons and five daughters. The body was taken to Ohio today.
