George Peet, 36, of Allegan, was freed from a 38 foot well after more than 50 hours trapped. Neighbor L. G. Reynolds aided the rescue as cave ins and a broken pulley delayed efforts. Peet suffered 10 broken bones and was placed under a nurse’s care recovering at home.

Two people died and two women were injured when a Cessna participating in the Philadelphia to Cleveland air derby crashed while attempting to land at Boston harbor area. Victims tentatively identified include Mr and Mrs Red Deveraux of Washington and an oil company representative named Reese. earlier reports named Lloyd Yost of Coyningham and George Coulton.
