Lansing Michigan April 30 United Press reports the city board of education disqualified 35 Central high school boys for five years for violating the state fraternity law. Gamma Phi and Phi Epsilon were found active with 21 and 14 members respectively, all boys from prominent families. No girls’ sororities were found. Athletic teams lose members. football squads face disbanding and new teams must be formed for spring track and next seasons.

Green frees lifer from Jackson Prison
Charles Cashmore, 16 years into a murder sentence, is the first lifer freed by Governor Green. Mt Pleasant Bands Share Spotlight In College Auditorium
The Mt Pleasant high school band and Central State Teachers college band combined for a 60 piece ensemble in the college auditorium. Under Newell H. Long they closed with the national hymn to an ovation from about 1,000 townspeople and students. The Bandoliers plus a male quartet and saxophone band performed popular numbers.
