Two Lake County Waters Will Form Youthful Fishing Haven
Clermont Lions club and conservation officials launched a project to clear two Lake County lakes Sparkling Water and Center of rough fish and restock them with bass and blue bream for exclusive youth fishing. Federal Biologist Howard Bissland led the effort as volunteers netted 800 pounds from Center lake and 500 pounds from Sparkling Waters, including a 32 pound catfish. The plan aims to produce 700 pounds of game fish per acre annually and, after two spawning seasons, designate the lakes for youths under 14 with ongoing maintenance.
