Amateur Operators Open 14th Year of Emergency Circuit
Florida amateur radio operators began the fourteenth season of emergency communication with Army Signal Corps and the Florida National Guard coordinating four networks for telegraphic and radio phone service. The setup includes the army naval reserve coast guard and 100 plus amateur stations statewide. J M Smith and F C Beardsley of Mount Dora participate in the hookup. Preparedness drills are held each Monday night with the national guard control station at Lake Worth, officers cross military lines during emergencies.

Annual Field Day Livestock Roundup at Chinsegut Hill
The fourth annual field day and livestock roundup will be held today at the Government Experiment Station north of Brooksville. Sponsored by the Bureau of Animal Industry, USDA, the event features inspections of poultry and livestock, silage crops, and pastures in the forenoon. A barbecue dinner by the American Legion Auxiliary is 50 cents, with programs in the afternoon for poultry raisers, livestock, and pasture topics.

Winter Resident Victim Of Automobile Accident
Mrs. George H. Garlick of Montreal was fatally injured in an auto accident in Canada last week while wintering at Mount Dora. Her husband Mr. Garlick suffered a broken nose and shock and remained hospitalized after their car lost control in Lachine on the way home to Toronto.
