Mount Dora Merchants End Stamp Plan in 1967
At a August 31 meeting the Mount Dora Profit Sharing Plan board voted to discontinue the stamp program effective November 1 1967 with stamps redeemable until December 1 1967. Since March 1964 the plan has seen 15233 books redeemed as several stations had dropped out and many merchants supported ending it.

Florida imposes new pasteurized milk requirement
Florida's new milk law, effective September 1, bans selling raw milk from cows and goats. Dr James B Nichols notes raw milk linked to outbreaks of typhoid fever septic sore throat and undulant fever and warns consumers are often unaware of the change.
