The 1935-36 Florida citrus season was the most profitable in four years with oranges averaging 4lc above last year and 27c higher than two years ago. Grapefruit, tangerines, and other fruits showed higher prices. total state shipments reached about 14.39 million orange boxes, 7.08 million grapefruit boxes, and 1.84 million tangerine boxes, yielding roughly $50,000,000 to Florida, with growers nets over $30,000,000 on the tree.
