Florida citrus at eighty million dollar annual value

The 1936 37 Florida citrus crop is estimated to bring over 80 million dollars. Of this, about 45 million returned to growers while most of the remainder circulated within the state. Florida produced 19 million oranges 17.86 million grapefruit and 3.02 million tangerines by June 5 1937 with seven million boxes packed by canners. Prices were steadier due to improved national economy and marketing policies.

Mrs. Mary S. Koebke will open Handcraft Shop at 115 Fifth Avenue West on Monday November 1. New stock of gifts and novelties, fresh yarns, and materials for hand work. Knitting crocheting and needlework classes offered. Dressmaking alterations provided by an experienced seamstress and fitter. Marmalades restocked from last year.

W. C. Petris, federal fruit inspector, purchases 15 acres in the Tangerine area at the intersection of Dudley avenue and US 441 Orlando road from Thos. H. Cooley via A. Quixley Realty Co. He plans a grove and a residence on the site.
