Pine Broiler Plant Ready For Business

A new broiler plant in Mount Dora Florida is nearing completion with two stages of battery brooders and automatic thermo electric heating for day old chicks. The facility will expand to 600 capacity and features a sloped concrete floor, central drain, and washing sinks. One Show Friday for Objective Burma at Princess Theatre

The Princess Theatre will show Objective Burma starring Errol Flynn only once on Friday night due to length. Manager W D Patton urges patrons to note changed times with doors at 7 45 PM and the feature at 8 21 PM. On Saturday doors open at 2 45 PM and the film plays three times at 3 00 5 42 and 8 26 PM.

Florida will observe Thanksgiving on November 22, the fourth Thursday, per a 1945 legislature bill aligning with federal rules. Washington's act in 1941 set the same date nationwide. Navy reports the death of Ray Milton Blanchard Jr AM 2c USN at 19 while serving aboard the USS Franklin. Born in Milford Connecticut, he moved to Mount Dora at age 11 and became an Eagle Scout. He married Angelina Cell on December 13, 1944, and they had a son born October 9, 1945.

Former Navy Men Return to Town in Civilian Dress

Roy M Coffey district OPA director announced the appointment of a distribution officer information officer and a tire panel to serve Mt Dora residents after the war price and rationing board closed. Roland J Morse will handle printed forms assist mail applicants for rationed goods and tires and chair the information committee providing OPA program education. Tire quotas will be set by the local committee with tire applications handled by a citizen panel.
