Lake County Chamber of Commerce directors adopted a budget for the next year totaling 6800 in receipts from cash balance county publicity tax and dues. The plan covers printing postage office costs signs and travel with 6800 expended by Tales County Chamber of Commerce. The budget was urged by the budget and finance committee chaired by Geo J White. September activity shows 536 incoming letters 1244 outgoing letters and 2831 pieces of printed matter handled. secretary attended 41 meetings and spoke 37 times locally and countywide. Lake county publicity yielded 141 columns of news and pictures in September.

Lehmann Becomes Florida’s First National Institute Graduate
Karl Lehmann secretary of the Lake County Chamber of Commerce earned his certificate from Northwestern University Evans ton after a three year summer course for Commercial and Trade Organization Executives. He is the first Florida secretary to graduate from the National Institute, joining Jas T Daniels of Jacksonville who was the U S first graduate nine years ago in Columbus Ohio. Eight other Florida secretaries have taken parts of the program but not completed it.

His wife Mrs. Sewell is severely injured with a broken leg and internal injuries. she remains in critical condition. The couple had been returning from a summer in Caribou Maine and were struck while crossing a turnpike restaurant area. Sewell’s body is taken to Exeter and his wife hospitalized in Portsmouth.
