County Chamber Revising Lake County Prospect Lists
The Lake County Chamber of Commerce in Tavares revises its prospect files from a list of nearly 5 000 names. About ten percent of letters monthly yield moves with correctly addressed cards. undelivered returns are low. Many requests for information come from six to seven years prior, with subscriptions to Lake County News. Some prospects plan to visit after the war.

Lake County Posts Early Tax Roll First Payments
County Tax Assessor J Philip Doss presented the tax roll a week early and receipt No 1 issued. C N McElvey of Winter Haven paid taxes and became the first taxpayer. Twelve thousand tax statements are being mailed in the next two weeks and year end collections are expected to be a high mark. Mrs Wilma J March of Leesburg named chair of the Lake County Committee to enlist 1008 WACs in Florida by December 7. Local chairmen will be appointed to work with Mrs March under the Lake County Defense Council.
