Mrs Valentine Receives Distinguished Service Award
Marian B. Valentine Lake County Home Demonstration Agent will receive the Distinguished Service Award at the National Home Demonstration Agents Association meeting in Boston. Dr E T Yoch Jr of the Federal Extension Service will present it. A North Carolina native and Flora McDonald College alumna, she has pursued graduate work at UNC and the University of Florida. The Florida Farm Bureau notes higher injury rates on small farms compared with larger operations.

Twenty eight golfers attended the Sun Risers event at the Mount Dora club with Mira Wiley awarding prizes to Helen Rottedham Janet Fetherline and Paul Ashbaugh for low net and low putts. The club plans a Play Day on October 17 with nine holes ten prizes and a buffet lunch.
