East Town Church Pews Arrive and Fundraiser Summary
East Town The service at St. s Baptist Church last Sunday ran high all day. Our pastor Russell has returned home again after being off about 30 days. Our pews are here and they are fine. We have placed them in the church and they look good and they are comfortable. We like them, just fine, so much until we are again thanking our arn for helping us get them, white and black did fine. We raised the $2,300 and the pews and pulpit set cost $2,000 with labor included. We had a meeting for the better ment of East Town last Wednesday night. Our Chief of Police and lawyer T. H. Cooley were our guests and also were the speakers for the event. The meeting was enjoyed by a good congregation. We met again this Tuesday night gone and made some real plans to improve or citizenship and build a monument for young boys and girls to shape their lives by. We want the proprietors of all the beer gardens to keep the under-age
