Visit Pleasant but Death Waited for Veteran Youmans Killed

A Fort Myers veteran and nightclub operator Thomas Youmans, 24, died when his car overturned seven times on a Highway near Charlotte Harbor after fleeing at high speed. A 52 year old woman, dining with him, was injured. Services were held in Fort Myers. Youmans served in the Battle of the Bulge and Germany. The first victim in these death circumstances was Jefferson V. Seckinger, former theater manager.

Florida firms hire 611 handicapped during observance

Responding to pleas through press and radio, Florida State Employment Service reports 611 handicapped persons employed in the recent National Employ the Physically Handicapped Week. Of the total, 364 were veterans, compared with 254 placements the same week in 1946.

Calvin Seemann 83 of Canton Ohio died last Friday before he could move into his Sylvan Shores retirement home in Mount Dora. A retired attorney, he leaves widow Jane Seemann sister of Mrs Frank Irvine, a daughter Mrs Orro Hensel, and was to be buried in Canton.

Walker Named Messiah Director At Rollins College
