Will Smathers and Otto Kaupas prepare Lamp Post on Donnelly Street near Fifth Avenue to open later this month offering quick meals a back room TV lounge and four room Cubbyhole Apartments with shag carpet spread through halls and units. The Mount Dora area already hosts AAA recommended eateries with added competitors in a growing dining scene.

Mount Dora City Council, in a special session, designates sewage tertiary treatment and new collection lines as the top expenditure priority from a planned revenue certificate issue worth about 300000. About 100000 is earmarked for drainage, with similar amounts for a water well, city trucks, and electrical system upgrades. Proceeds expected Feb 1, 1972. First National Bank of Mount Dora aided the issue with First National Bank of Orlando.
