Citrus Shippers Merge with Florida Clearing House
Citrus shippers of the Fruitmen’s Association and the Florida Citrus Growers’ Clearing House Association agreed to merge at a Orlando meeting. A. M. Pratt and S. J. Sligh announced the merger, aiming to stabilize the grapefruit market. The combined group could handle about 10 000 cars, expanding the Clearing House’s tonnage with roughly twenty Fruitmen’s members joining.

New residents Mr. and Mrs Emile Real of Hillside New Jersey have bought a home in Sylvan Shores Mount Dora they will make their permanent residence here. They were touring with plans to settle in southern California but chose Mount Dora during a stopover. They were joined by Mr C E Brooks and sons Edward Jr and Earl Stanley.

The Mount Dora Park Commission reports ongoing beautification from Donnelly Park to a statewide Florida effort. One thousand petunia plants were planted, Italian rye seed scattered, and a park benefit party with 25 cent tickets and a $1 donation from “Little Friend” supported civic improvements.

Winter Visitors to Mount Dora Meet With Fatal Accident
Dr. and Mrs. A B Marshall of Bellevue Nebraska on winter visit en route to Mount Dora. a Thursday crash near Creston Iowa killed Dr Marshall and left Mrs Marshall with a fractured leg in hospital. They had spent time in Mount Dora last winter as guests of J J West and had rented his house planning to settle there. Dr Marshall aged eighty two, a retired minister.
