Towers F. Hamilton longtime Norwalk businessman and three term city councilman died yesterday at Norwalk Hospital after a cerebral hemorrhage in his office. Services set for Friday at 2 p.m. at Raymond funeral home with Rev. David J. Davis. burial in Riverside cemetery. Survived by wife Mabel Powers Hamilton, two sons Frederick and Towers F. Jr., and several siblings. He was production manager of Holland Machine Co and later headed Peerless Manufacturing and Towers Optical Co.

Ensign Gordon E. Coffin of Jacksonville died last week when a Navy patrol plane crashed in the Atlantic north of Daytona Beach. One crew member escaped. Coffin, once a Mount Dora resident living with relatives, was commissioned this year at Pensacola and served at Jacksonville NAS. Survived by his widow in Jacksonville, his father David Coffin Sr, and brother Lt David Coffin Jr, among others. Memorial services were held Monday in Jacksonville.
