Anniversary, choir events mark Mount Dora church life
The St Mary Baptist Church Senior Choir celebrated its 47th anniversary with a large turnout and Rev C Y Russell delivering the service. A federation of choirs met at Shilo Baptist in Tavares with Rev Louis preaching the closing address. Miss Ann Byrne, a VISTA worker, was honored at a reception in East Town for her year of service and civic efforts.

Collision near Mallory car leaves two disabled
Cannon said his brakes failed and he swerved to avoid a rear collision with a cement truck. The two vehicles then went into the ditch and collided head on, wrecking the Mallory car while the cement truck sustained no damage. Cannon was charged with failure to have his vehicle under control.
