Members of the Classic MG Club of Central Florida toured Mount Dora with T Type cars built before 1955. They picnicked at Pat Chester Lowe’s mother Mrs. Edmund Chester’s home on Old Highway 441. City Clerk Carl Fowler Dies After Illness in Mount Dora
William Carl Fowler age 69 died May 13 at Waterman Memorial Hospital after an extended illness. He served as City Clerk and Treasurer of Mount Dora and lived at 1021 Helen St. He was born June 6, 1906 in Bowdon Georgia. Surviving are his widow Geraldine and two sons Jeffrey and William Jr. The funeral was held Saturday at Rehbaum Harden Chapel with burial in Pine Forest Cemetery.

Two Men Dead After Club Ebony Argument Near Mount Dora
Lake County deputies responded to a 5 20 p m call at Club Ebony on U S 441 just outside Mount Dora. James Taylor 42 and Prince Burrows 40 died after apparently shooting each other in the parking lot during a dispute. Investigation continues.
