City and County to Pave Roadway in Mount Dora
The City of Mount Dora and Lake County Board of Commissioners will jointly pave a half mile of East Town roadway. The city council approved a plan to cover 1200 dollars for paving two tenths inside city limits and three tenths outside. The project runs from Grant fronts the school east to Wardell and north to Jackson Street.

Esther Bishop longtime Mount Dora civic leader dies
Mrs Esther Wyatt Bishop 68 died Sunday at Waterman Memorial Hospital after moving to Florida 21 years ago from St Johns Michigan. A Garden Club leader, past president of Lakes and Hills Garden Club and Magnolia Circle, she directed district seven of the Florida Federation of Garden Clubs and judged national flower shows. She served as pianist for the Mount Dora Kiwanis Club for 15 years and belonged to the Lake County Chorus, American Legion Auxiliary, Mount Dora Historical Society, First Church of Christ Scientist and area clubs. She is survived by her husband Daniel H Bishop and others.
