A group of 28 second graders from Roseborough Elementary toured Mount Dora City Jail with Police Chief J. T. Bud Huett as part of a safety unit. Doreen Geddes, a 1965 Mount Dora High School graduate, received magna cum laude at Lake-Sumter Junior College commencement in Leesburg High School auditorium. She also earned a Southern Scholarship and Research Foundation Award to Florida State University, one of 30 statewide recipients, and was to join FSU as part of a home-based scholars program.

Regional planning council to study regional medical facilities
The East Central Florida Regional Planning Council was asked to study the region's medical hospital and home health services at its Titusville meeting. J. K. Galloway of Winter Park Memorial Hospital presented the request, directing the committee to draft a proposal and seek funding sources. Lake County representatives include Alfred W. Rehbaum Jr., Dewey Livingston, and Max E. Wettstein. The meeting also reviewed proposed legislation allowing counties to form non profit corporations with county commissioners as boards of directors for joint public concerns.

Mrs. S. Taylor 74, of Umatilla and Mount Dora, sister of Mrs. Christopher Withoven, died Tuesday after four years in Umatilla. New Clubhouse Slated For Mt. Dora Golf Club
Mount Dora Golf Association plans a new $65,000 clubhouse on the existing site with colonial design. Matsche Construction Co. of Eustis receives the contract. Ground-breaking set for July 1 with completion by October 1, 1967. The facility will include a pro shop lounge and clubrooms, and storage for electric golf carts. No dining room is planned. barbecues will be hosted there.

Mount Dora High Swim Team hosted Eustis Tuesday afternoon. Girls dominated with top finishes in the 200 yard medley relay 100 yard fly and 400 yard free relay led by Cox Ormesher and Rainey. Boys claimed a lone first from T Bowman in the 50 free with several second and third places across events. Mount Dora heads to Deland Uma tila next Friday for another meet.
