Ice Cream Supplies Similar to Last Year Warned
The Ice Cream Manufacturers Association cautions that nationwide supplies for civilian consumption are not guaranteed to rise despite publicity of potential increases. Butterfat limits remain, skim milk solids may be used, and many firms kept formulas close to prior levels. A small average butterfat reduction under 11 percent is noted, suggesting consumption should reflect 1944 spring and summer availability rather than a broader increase.
