Two Mount Dora women were honored at the 48th annual convention of the Grand Temple Pythian Sisters of Florida in St. Petersburg. Jessie Graves was named Grand Senior and Mae Fenton was elected Grand Treasurer for a five year term. Also attending were Katheryn Lobeck as secretary and Phyllis Griffin as grand representative.

Lakes and Hills Garden club dominated state honors at the State Federation convention in Tampa. Mrs. Vernon L. Conner of Lake Jem was selected Fourth District director covering Volusia to Hernando counties. She will promote garden therapy Peace Rose plans and junior gardening while aiding crippled children and disabled veterans. Her appointment spotlights Mount Dora and state planning meetings will occur there.
