Joiner Wins Soil Conservation Service Award in Gainesville
Jerry R. Joiner District Conservationist of Tavares received a Certificate of Merit and a cash award from the U S Department of Agriculture Soil Conservation Service in Gainesville on February 24. State Conservationist William E. Austin cited Joiner for leadership updating the Lake Soil and Water Conservation District long-range program during the LCS Awards Luncheon. Mount Dora High School senior Jack Harris signed a grant in aid to play football for Newberry College. Harris stands 6 feet tall and weighs 220 pounds and was a linebacker for the Golden Hurricanes.

DAR to hear state reports meeting in Depot unt Dora
