Two 19 year old Eustis youths Don Garrigan and Charles Smith faced petty larceny charges after police traced 15 gallons of gasoline and 21 quarts of stolen farm supply from a Clayton street incident. Four Dorans Survive Night Stranded in Gulf
Four Mount Dora winter residents Norman Cabb Arthur Moots T M Fetherlin and Orville McConnell endured a night stranded on a rock in a Gulf fishing trip near Bayport. A captain without lights steered the boat onto rocks at six pm as lightning storms and heavy rain battered them. Found at 8 am by a Florida Conservation Division agent they reached Bayport two hours later with a catch of grouper and a tale of a brief watery imprisonment.

Mount Dora hosts a double event weekend starting April 4 with the Florida Outdoor Writers Association convention and the fourth annual Mount Dora Sailboat Regatta on Lake Dora. Girl Misses Dog but Not Hospital
A 19 year old Leesburg girl named Lottie Dudley was hospitalized after crashing while swerving to miss a dog on Sanford Road near the DeLand cut-off intersection last Saturday. She suffered a severe head injury as witnesses observed she struck an embankment.
