Clarinda Meloy Funeral Observances Held Near Sorrento
Funeral services for Mrs. Clarinda Meloy Keech were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the home of her son-in-law and daughter Mr. and Mrs. Pushee near Sorrento. Rev. J. H. Elder officiated with assistance from Rev. and Mrs. Black of Leesburg. A duet titled The Touch Of His Hand was rendered as many friends filled the yard with floral tributes. Born January 9, 1842 in Wisconsin, she married Harald P. Meloy in 1859 and remained a Methodist for 75 years. She leaves a daughter and son-in-law, a brother in Wisconsin, and two grandchildren, G. F. Pushee of Waterloo Iowa and Esther Pushee of Plainfield New Jersey. She left a poem, That Glory Land Above, as her testimony.

Negro Gunman Murders Two At Cassia
Postmaster J L Lawrence and his wife were killed in Cassia by a negro gunman who also set fire to their home. A posse traced the suspect to Henderson's home and bloodstains on clothing led to his confession. Lawrence, about 40, and his wife, about 32, died after recounting the events to officers.
