Beginning Sunday July 8 the Mount Dora Church of Christ will host two weeks of lectures by noted Florida ministers to inaugurate the new Fifth avenue building. Evening services start at 8 15 with a daily Bible School from July 9 at 9 30 through the two weeks. Attendance is invited for all.

Cpl. Donald Thompson has written his mother asking no letters until further notice as he hopes to return home in July. Cpl. George Jerue has been returned to the States and is at the Naval hospital in San Diego after a serious head injury on Okinawa. Howard J. Wetz, chief petty officer in the Seabees, left for Mayport to embark for duty after a thirty year furlough spent with family and friends. Lt. Commander Irving Shuman Jr. and Warrant Officer Alfred Rehbaum Jr. of the Maritime Service reported at Tampa for duty after thirty days leave, then returned home when their ship was not ready to leave. Cpl. Walter L. Tucker moved from Courtland Army Air Field Alabama to Fort Myers Florida for B-29 gunnery training. Cpl. Baker earned his gunner’s wings at Harrigan Texas Army Air Field and has since been stationed at Courtland Alabama.
