Elizabeth Wentworth widow of Elmer Wentworth died Saturday June 16 at her Mount Dora home after fourteen years of civic life. Born September 30 1862 in Peabody Massachusetts she taught in Dover Point and later moved with her husband to Chicago Iowa and New Jersey before settling in Mount Dora in 1931. An active church member and community leader she supported Missionary Society the D A R P E O reading circles and the Mount Dora Woman's Club. She is survived by three sons Edward Allerton Norris and five daughters with sixteen grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Funeral services were held Monday at 3 p m from the church.
Dr J E Guy was elected secretary treasurer of the Florida Osteopathic Medical Society for the Third District at a meeting last week held at the Fort Gatlin Hotel in Orlando.
The three Florida banks reporting quota achievement for the Seventh War Loan to ABA Chairman G. G. Ware of Leesburg were Lake County banks. They were First State Bank of Eustis, First National Bank of Mount Dora, and Citizens Bank of Clermont, in reporting order. Only three other banks in the state had reached quotas when Lake County War Finance Committee received the report.

Ernest Parkhurst, stationed in Tangerine, returns for a few weeks with family before resuming ship duties. William Beasley assigned to the 126th Infantry in Northern Luzon fighting with the Red Arrow Division. Edward Klatte advances to seamen first class aboard a Pacific carrier. Navy service since May 1943. The Mount Dora veteran is among the largest aerial troop movements in history returning from overseas in a record 42 days.
Since the war began over a million men have been discharged and thousands more return to civilian life monthly. The government provides a gold lapel button as the emblem of honorable discharge, small and little known, a badge of honor for veterans in civilian dress.
