Hollywood star Esther Williams savoring Florida oranges on location at Cypress Gardens where On An Island With You began filming for MGM. Co stars Peter Lawford and Cyd Charisse join the production amid tropical scenery.
Mrs. Jones Elliott, a new Mount Dora resident, praises the town over St. Petersburg, recounting squab welcome by C. T. Alphard and the garden spot of Florida. She cites pleasant views, fireflies, and easy parking as advantages over crowded St. Pete. Mr. and Mrs. Howard Greer McCausland visit Elliott at 415 Kimballov.
Mount Dora businesses will shut for July fourth and the town is expected to look deserted as residents travel to beaches picnic grounds or take lake cruises. The Topic office will also close for the holiday.

Mr. and Mrs. Frederick W. Sleight and daughter Susan depart for Mesa Verde National Park where Frederick will lecture on Archaeological and Geological topics and plan to return by Sept. 30. They will visit the Univ of Southern California in Los Angeles and Tucson prior to resuming life in Mount Dora at Sylvan Shores with work at Wayside Packing House and continuing lectures at Rollins College in Winter Park.
