Old Watt steam engine still runs after 150 years

A Watt steam engine built around 1775 at Broseley in Shropshire reportedly remains the oldest operating steam engine. It powered the Deep Pits shaft and cage, with iron from local ore and only the piston replaced recently. The plant’s care passed from father to son after half a century of single-operator use.
