Mount Dora Residents Earn Medical and Educational Honors
Dr. Crow of Mount Dora is now a Diplomate of the American Board of Family Practice and holds the AMA Physician’s Recognition Award. Sue Straight Kennedy and Sue Kennedy, both from Mount Dora, graduated from Stetson University with BA degrees. Horace Jones of Lake Sumter Community College is selected for a six week University of Florida Vocational Guidance Institute. Florida Hunters will gain new Ocala Wildlife Management Area lands for 1971 72. Em L. Nicholson, Mount Dora native, returns home from Chelsea Naval Hospital after Viet Nam service and planned discharge.

Everglades hunting season to open November 13
The five member Game and Fresh Water Fish Commission reports hunting in the Everglades will proceed as planned for 1971 72 despite drought and fire damage. Recovery is expected as vegetation regrows and wildlife turnover normalizes mitigating the impact on small animals.
