Memorial Day Observed By Local Patriotic Groups
Memorial Day was observed in Mount Dora with a 10:00 parade led by Civil War Veterans, the American Legion, Boy Scouts and other groups. A 10:30 ceremony at Forest Cemetery featured prayers, a speech by Dr. L L McNair praising American ideals and veterans, a floral tribute, firing squad salutes, taps, and closing prayers.

Six Mount Dora boys spent Monday to Wednesday on a camping and boating trip to Silver Springs. Nelson Morley Lem Downs Roy Christopher led in Nelsons boat while Sunny Boy Rehbaum Wayne Moon and Buster Sadler rode in Sunny Boys boat. They left about 5 00 a m reached Silver Springs about 3 30 p m camped swam hiked visited Ocala and enjoyed the voyage.

Silverdawn Kennels Relocated to Mount Dora
The Silverdawn Kennels owned by Mrs. Frank Finzel moved from Miami to Mount Dora and now reside at 513 Highland Avenue. The facility houses notable Persian cats, and Finzel, with about fifteen years of breeding experience, has been active in cat shows including managing a major Miami show last year. Visitors are welcome.
