State Officials Here on Mosquito Matter in Mt Dora
State Board of Health representatives visited Mt Dora to assess mosquito conditions at the request of Kiwanis Club officials. They cited stagnant water as the primary source from rowboats, old wells, and tin cans, and suggested oil treatment to eradicate breeding. The Kiwanis committee will present the report for club action and public cooperation is urged.

Poppies Sold in Mount Dora by Legion Auxiliary
Mount Dora residents paid on their war debt by buying poppies last Saturday. Four young volunteers from the Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion staffed the post office headquarters and distributed all the poppies allotted to Mount Dora. Boosters Eye Municipal Electric Plant for Golden Triangle
At a Eustis meeting of the Golden Triangle Boosters Club engineers outlined a plan for a municipally owned electric plant in Eustis Mount Dora and Tavares. The proposal claims electricity costs could be reduced and the plant paid for in eight years. Petitions for Triangle road paving were approved for circulation next week. The club agreed to finance White Way improvements with separate bond issues and discussed funding by adjacent property owners. The next meeting will be in Mount Dora Friday night with further reports on the plant and paving.
