Three-phase Season For Dove Hunting in 1964 65

Florida hunters will have a three phase migratory dove season for 1964 65. Phase one runs October 3 to November 8, phase two November 14 to 29, phase three December 19 to January 4. Daily bag 12 with two days possession. Shooting noon to sunset on open days. Other migratory game rules listed.

The weekend event produced three 58 scores by pairs Tom Schaffer with Doug Scarff Ken Hill with Bob Stucker and Jim Turner with M O Brien. New Gardeners Share Fertilizer Tips at Mount Dora Meeting

Members of the Men’s Garden Club of Mount Dora met in the refurbished Community Building social room for a July session. Charles Butterworth of Chase and Company spoke on fertilizer tags, organic content, and correct nutrient sources for sandy soils, plus a chart on nitrogen availability. The group plans landscaping revamps, library additions, and recognized prize winners.

Florida VA warns active duty personnel on life insurance waiver

M. T. Dixon of the Florida Department of Veterans Affairs issued a warning to all active duty personnel in Florida about the in service premium waiver on Government life insurance. In some cases the waiver can hurt dependents by preventing eligibility for dependency and indemnity compensation if the insured dies with the waiver in effect. Dixon urged service members to check how their family would be affected and offered inquiries at Veteran County Service Offices or by mail at P O Box 1437 St Petersburg Florida.
