Rabid fox attacks Mount Dora woman and spreads fear

Mrs. Betty Ann Kahler was bitten in her bed by a rabid fox that entered the Kahler home at 723 South Grandview Street. The animal fled toward a golf course where it was killed by neighbor David Smith. The city reported several dogs bitten and destroyed as precautions. Health officials urged nearby residents to check pets and consider booster shots. Kahler continued rabies treatment for 14 days.

Mount Dora approves 2.5 mill tax rise for 40,000 yearly
