Gasoline Stamp Not Needed at Vehicle Registration

John L. Fahs announced clarification on the relation between motor vehicle use tax stamps and gasoline rationing. The Office of Price Administration allows entering the stamp serial number on the coupon book cover, not showing the stamp at registration. The stamp must be on the vehicle now. using a car after July 1, 1942 without a stamp or proof of payment could incur a $25 fine.

Civilians Asked to Register at Defense Center

Civilian defense volunteers and enlistees are urged to visit the Defense Center at 138 Fifth Avenue East to fill registration cards. Air raid wardens, plane spotters and others in civilian defense are asked to file cards for official lists to be reported up to county and state councils. Voluntary enlistment emphasized.

Christian Life Institute At Lakeside Ends Saturday

A Methodist Church Christian Life Institute at Lakeside Inn hosts 75 youths from North Florida. The program runs from Monday afternoon to Saturday with Rev. E. C Calhoun of Jacksonville as dean and a 25 member faculty including Mrs. S. D. Summers Dr. D. H. Rutter and others from Orlando Lake City St. Petersburg and Ocala. The event follows four St Johns Presbytery conferences held in June at Lakeside.

George J White president of the First National Bank of Mount Dora is appointed a member of the Lake County Selective Service Board. He succeeds C H Lichliter who moved to Jacksonville to join the OPA legal staff. Other members are E C Huey of Leesburg and Carl Ferran of Eustis.

Kiwanian Floyd Montgomery of the First Baptist Church of Mount Dora will speak at the Kiwanis meeting in the Community Building at 12 15 p m. The program highlights the Kiwanis International convention in Cleveland with theme Victory by United Effort by Individual Service. Guests include Rudy Schneider and Ernest Minkley, with Rev. All passenger car owners must register at the Defense Center Thursday through Saturday from 1 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Truck and non highway users face a later date due to missing supplies. Gas Station Operators Must Register for July 22 Rationing

All filling station operators must register on the morning of July 22 when the permanent gasoline rationing plan begins. They will declare tank capacities and on hand amounts at opening, after which local rationing boards will determine the allowable inventory and issue 100 gallon and 1 gallon coupons. Operators must deliver coupons or certificates to bulk distributors to meet their allowable inventory and can convert larger coupons into smaller units as needed.

Final Gas Ration Registration Plans For Lake County

Final plans for registering all gasoline vehicles in Lake County were approved by Col. C. E. Lester and local rationing boards. Owners of most vehicles must apply July 9 to 11 at designated sites. Basic A books issued, with B and C as green and red supplements, D for motorcycles, S for trucks. non highway users register for applicable rations. Bomber Production Requires Labor and Land Resources

The plan calls for 100,000 man hours of labor and food support from 155 acres of land to construct a bomber.
