Mount Dora Police June report shows activity leveling off
The Mount Dora Police Department notes June activities near 703 after a sharp May rise. Moving and hazardous traffic violations led totals with 119 and 111, two strong-arm robberies, 19 aggravated assaults, 14 forcible-entry burglaries, 33 thefts including 15 grand and 18 petit, two auto thefts, 16 vandalism cases, two drug-law incidents, two DUIs, four disorderly intoxications, 2 personal crises, 53 suspicious persons and 10 suspicious vehicles, 119 moving and 1 non moving hazardous violations, four injuries in accidents and 21 noninjury crashes. Arrests totaled nine juveniles and 20 adults. Stolen property valued at 3,686.15 and found property at 131.00.

Registration for the second session runs July 14 at Mount Dora High School pool with classes for under 6 beginners to advanced, 44 weeks long, half hour sessions, fees 3 dollars for Mount Dora residents and 5 dollars for county residents. Lessons start July 15.

Mount Dora Beautification Task Force to Meet
The first official meeting of Mount Dora's Task Force on Beautification will be held at 4 p.m. July 19 in the Baggage Room at the Chamber of Commerce.
