Mount Dora to Build 72-Unit Low Rent Apartments
Construction advances on a $540,000 72 unit low rent project along 13th Avenue in Mount Dora. The 19 single story buildings will offer 1 2 and 3 bedroom all electric units with rents based on tenant salary subsidized by the federal government. Local residents get first chance at units and occupancy is limited to two persons per bedroom. The project aims to prevent slum conditions with on site maintenance and occasional government inspections. Paving of 13th Avenue will be shared by Oakland Associates as state officials plan new road work. The project is slated for completion next January and may prompt relocation from poorer housing in East Town to enforce city housing rules.
