Florida Symphony Stuns Mount Dora With Dvorak Sixth
Assistant conductor Maria Tunicka led the Florida Symphony Orchestra in a rare Dvorak Symphony No. 6 premiere at the Mount Dora Community Building before about 500 fans. Concert master Alphonse Carlo noted it as a scarce piece in their repertoire. The concert featured neo romantic Czech music with strong strings and folk influences and ended with lighter works, while a call went out for more notes and a full house at the February show.
